What is Pre & Post Natal Pilates

Pilates is an ideal low impact exercise which is safe to do during all stages of pregnancy from prenatal through to postnatal.

ACE Health Centre offer a tailored Pilates program to suit the changing needs of every trimester right through into postnatal recovery.

The classes have been carefully developed by our team of highly experienced physiotherapists, designed with the safety and well-being of you and your baby in mind.

Pre Natal Pilates

Our Pre-Natal Pilates classes are designed to strengthen the deep abdominal and pelvic floor muscles which are strained as your baby grows.  These exercises may take the stress off the back and pelvic floor and help position the baby for delivery.

Our team will guide you to help you assist with developing a stable core to then you can build on its strength through controlled movements all without putting your body under strain.

Post Natal (Mum’s & Bub’s)

Post Natal Classes also performed on the Gold Coast are a great fun way to exercise with your baby.  Our mums and bubs classes help to:

–          Regain pelvic floor muscle strength and bladder control

–          Strengthen and flatten your abdominal muscles

–          Tone your body

–          Raise your energy levels

–          Provide a base to move into higher intensity exercise without injury

–          Prevent low mood and postnatal depression

In the post natal period we recommend an assessment with one of our physiotherapists to assess your stomach muscles (on the Real Time Ultrasound machine) and check for any separation (Rectus Diastasis).

We offer a tailored Pilates program to suit the changing needs of your body during each trimester (Pregnancy Equipment Pilates) and into the postnatal recovery period (Mums & Bubs Pilates). In the post natal period we recommend an assessment with one of our physiotherapists to assess your stomach muscles (on the Real Time Ultrasound machine) and check for any separation (Rectus Diastasis). Presence of a Rectus Diastasis reduces the integrity and functional strength of the abdominal wall and can aggravate lower back pain and pelvic instability.
